The RACV Business Centre project exemplifies a holistic workplace transformation by changing and adapting the workplace design, operations, technology, and employee working styles.
Award winning design firm, Bates Smart lead the design for the 4800sqm site, relocating over 500 RACV staff members to their new space in Melbourne’s CBD. Key to the design approach was the ability to inform and support a complete business transformation, as well as the geographical change.
Bates Smart’s design spanned three floors and sort to accommodate the varied activities and work-styles of the employees. Encouraging cross collaboration, the design encompassed an open plan environment with neighborhoods to support team based connection.
Staff well being was a crucial focus for the project, where the design team sort to make a high quality experience for all. This was translated through the use of natural light, high ceilings, collaborative zones and a natural palette. Connection of spaces was also achieved through the use of a interconnecting staircase as a centerpiece and an outdoor aesthetic which weaves through the breakout zones.
